One of our Cats “Taffi” had 4 beautiful kittens at the weekend and we were present at the births.

We were having out Tea (OK, Dinner, it was late, about 7.30pm) and she was under the table making little noises.

In between mouthfuls we kept checking on her then her waters broke and she went right into the Box we had made up for her next to the table.

Luckily we’d finished the main and Taffi was in labour, the first kitten was Breach and first out was a Tail and a foot.  Nothing happend for a couple of minutes and Taffi couldn’t seem to get it out.

She was pulling on it and we wanted to help, but do what? Finally it was born, but the poor little thing didn’t make it and was dead on arrival. My girls and I were so sad, but within 5 minutes the next one was on the way.

The Next out was Tigger, its the Spit of Tigs only in Greyscale. Three more followed and we had a little burial service for the 1st kitty and named her “Suzie” as in “If you knew Suzie like I knew Suzie”

Our dog Sandy was there during the births and she was very helpful trying to clean the kittens.  She and Taffi were touching noses during the births and at one point taffi Bit (very gently) into my hand as she was giving birth to the final kitten. It was very moving as she didn’t hurt me and she was so brave.

Now, when we leave Sandy alone with them, when we come back into the room one of the kittens will have been licked so much all it’s hair is spiky. We think she’d make a wonderful mother herself. We’re on the lookout for a good looking boyfriend for her.

We spent the rest of the weekend watching the kittens and within two days they must have doubled in size.

I know, this has nothing to do with Gadgets.  But we do love out animals, so I’m sharing, OK!
