Windows 6.5: Living in a Post iPhone World is a Bitch
Windows Mobile 6.5 isn’t gettings good reviews at all.
My HTC Kaiser is gettiing old and very soon I’ll be changing, but to what?
The Palm Pre is something I’ve waited 10 months for, I really want to try it out and see if I can get back to my first love of smartphones, Palm.
Is is any good either, am I going to be dissapointed and end up going for an iPhone like everyone else?
I’ve tried iPhone, I’m just not that impressed. But then I am very picky and out of all the phones out there to do the job I want, I’d hate to settle for it just becuase there is nothing more suitable.
After all, I have a phone with no contract and pay a pittance for my useage. Heck, I use it as a modem for my laptop and it doesnt cost me any extra.
Getting an iPhone would mean New Contract, Higher Fees, Tethering charges and a loss of self.
Is the Pre up to what I need? I know that Windows lost it, as much as I use and like my HTC, it’s not what I want anymore.
I want connectivity and organisation.
Maybe I should go for an Andriod phone… Arghhh, too much choice, with too little to choose from.
When I fiannly make a desision, I’ll let you know what it is.
If only I could trial these phones first and get a feel for them… Anyone?

I have a Google G1, which is made by HTC, it has the android operating system, and is the best phone I have ever owned, completely intuitive, no need to be tied to Itunes, and automatically syncs with your Google account, i.e. if I add a contact, calendar date, map marker etc. on my PC, it appears on my phone without me even taking it out of my pocket, and vice versa.
Loads of free apps to download and touch wood has been a pleasure to own.
Battery life is poor if using it a lot, but spare batteries are ten a penny on eBay.
Unlimited data browsing on the contract i have with t-Mobile, I pay 25 a month, but think you can get that much cheaper if you push it, i just needed a phone as I fell out with O2 over their vague pricing opolicy with the iphone.
Any questions drop us a line.

Thanks Jonny M, I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me about the G1.
I finally went with the Palm Pre and after a few teething problems, all power related, I have decided to keep it.
Andriod is something I feel will improve vastly over time and maybe when my contract is over I will give one a try.
I will write about my Pre when I have a bit more time, suffice it to say, the battery takes about a week to get up to full capacity, after that it’s got great life, as long as you make a few tweeks.
